About Us

Three Generations of Family Experience

Owner Steve Woodin established Browns Shoe Fit in Norman in 1998, but the tradition stitched into the fabric of his business goes back much farther than that. Steve’s Grandfather, Chi Woodin trained under company Founder Win Brown before opening his own Browns Shoe Fit store in Centerville, Iowa in 1933. Years later, Steve’s father, Richard opened his Browns Shoe Fit in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. So, when Steve graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in sports medicine, his decision to follow in the family tradition came naturally. After training three years in Fort Collins, Colorado, Steve landed in Norman to started his business. Steve and his Browns Shoe Fit store are part of Norman’s community of locally owned retailers, growing relationships that have lasted for years, and he is forming new friendships all the time.
